June 13-17 MUSIC FOCUS
The Parable of the Two Sons
What does God command me to do? How can I obey God and encourage others?
If we truly love God, we will follow God’s commands. This camp teaches kids to demonstrate leadership and follow others’ guidance in order to model submission to God like the son who obeyed. Through Bible teaching and worship, reading and math centers, structured playtime, and hands-on learning on various instruments, campers will explore the importance of obedience and submission to God’s authority.
After learning the parable, campers will take turns giving and following directions through repeated rhythms, melodies, and tempos. Campers will learn basic music notation and practice reading written guidelines in music. Campers will work together to create written music and utilize various instruments to practice and perform their own compositions. This camp is ideal for children who like to be in charge, children who enjoy listening, singing, and tapping their feet, and children who are excited to try something new and create their own piece of music!
